Pretty In Pink: How We Incorporate Pink in Our Design Projects
Roses are red, violets are blue, love is in the air and pink is our favorite Valentine hue!
Pink is one of our favorite colors to work with in our Charlotte interior projects because of its incredible versatility. As much as it can be flirty and fun, it can also be incredibly sophisticated. Depending on the shade, pink can feel soft and sweet, refined and sophisticated, or bold and statement-making. It’s feminine, yet still beautifully gender-neutral and brings a subtle sense of romance without ever feeling overdone. With shades ranging from blush to mauve - and every rosy hue in between - the possibilities for incorporating pink are endless.
What makes pink truly special is how adaptable it is. It can appear in delicate accents, artwork, or textiles—or take center stage with furniture, cabinetry, or painted walls. We’ve embraced it all! We are a firm believers that pink can be used outside of nurseries and beyond teenaged girls bedrooms. With thoughtful design, there’s always a way to bring a touch, or a whole lot of pink into your home in a tasteful, elevated way.
This month on the blog, we’re celebrating pink by sharing some of our favorite spaces, including our latest blushed-out creations that show just how versatile and timeless this color can be.
Painted With Love
Artwork is a simple way to introduce pink into any space - whether it’s a bathroom, dining room, nursery, or even a walk-in closet. Pink pieces can make a bold statement, like the focal artwork in our Beaver Dam and recently shared Bulaful Home projects, or add interest to a blank wall, as we did in our Hurtt So Good closet. Either way, pink artwork has a way of elevating a room with personality, style and a touch of fun. Our tip: look for pieces that blend pink with other colors in your space so everything feels intentional and beautifully coordinated.
Rosy Rooms
Where artwork offers a hint of pink, painting a room pink puts the color in full display. As seen on both the primary closet ceiling as well as the kid’s bathroom walls in our Hurtt So Good project, these soft pink rooms have such a pretty affect. In both spaces, pink acts as a lovely neutral and pairs well with so many colors, including white, navy and gold.
Pops Of Pink
To add even more personality, consider introducing a pop of pink through furniture. It doesn’t overpower the space; instead, it brings gentle warmth, creates a subtle focal point, and adds a hint of playful sophistication. It could be a soft blush bench, like the one in our Hurtt So Good closet, or a berry-striped ottoman, one of our favorite statement details in the Bulaful Home living room.
Pink Panels
Soft, sweet and oh so charming, that’s exactly how we would describe the pink window treatments in our Bulaful Home nursery. Layered over a woven Roman shade and finished with a delicate white scalloped edge, these blush colored drapery panels add a sophisticated touch without overwhelming the space with too much pink.
Tickled Pink
If you love pink but aren’t ready to commit fully, start with small, thoughtful touches through accessories. In the Bulaful Home nursery, a pink sweater and quilted blanket introduce a sprinkling of pink to the space. A fresh bouquet adds a cheerful pop of pink to the Firethorne guest bathroom, while pink-hued books in the Asheford Green sunroom bring subtle visual interest to the side table.
