NEW YORK COUNTRY
After a frozen pipe burst and flooded this Westchester, New York kitchen, it was nearly a total loss, though the homeowners were able to salvage their tile floors, dark granite countertops, and colorful handblown glass pendant lights. This posed a fun design challenge for me: working within the size, layout and color constraints of the existing elements meant choosing new pieces extra carefully to ensure they blended seamlessly with the old. They loved the country charm of their previous kitchen but wanted an updated, brighter space to enjoy every day. We went with soft white cabinets to brighten up the darker countertops, an accent cherry island to incorporate their love for natural wood and topped off the remodel with a new Capital range. Happy cooking!
